Dear S Bhai !!!!

We r not immigration agent to comment on these. Plz consider brotherly suggestions on ur questions. Please also
note that by any means SABCA or myself is not responsible for the following answers.

Thanks.

> Dear Friends of SABCA,
> I am Md.S a medical graduate from Rangpur , Bangladesh .Me & my wife Dr.S asked for a guideline from one of our friend (now in sydnye) regarding our settlement at Australia where he has suggested for study 1 or 2 years either with Nursing or IT or any other subjects then apply for PR.

OK THIS IS GOOD QUESTION THAT U ASK ME. I GUESS EVERYONE SHOULD BE CLEAR ABOUT IT BEFORE COMMING TO
AUSTRALIA.

-> IF U GET PERMANENT RESIDENTSHIP THEN NO PROBLEM. I THINK IT WOULD BE HARD FOR U TO GET PERMANENT RESIDENTSHIP. PROBABLY U WILL BE GETTING SIR VISA. BECAREFULL ABOUT SIR VISA ON THIS ISSUE. IT DOES
NOT COVER MEDICAL INSURANCE. AS A RESULT U NEET TO PURCHASE MEDICAL INSURANCE FOR BOTH OF U. IT COSTS
AROUND $1800 FOR ONE YEAR. I ALSO THINK THERE IS A WAITING PERIOD FOR ONE YEAR ON CHILD BIRTH.

IN CONCLUSION IF U R ON SIR OR ANY OTHER VISA RATHER THAN PR VISA AND UR WIFE IS PREGNENT, ASK UR WIFE TO
COME TO AUSTRALIA AFTER CHILD BIRTH. OTHERWISE U CAN EXPECT A BILL OF AROUND $10000 - $20000. I GUESS DONT EVER THINK OF IT. U SHOULD ALSO CONTACT WITH INSURANCE COMPANY BEFOREHAND.

LAST OF ALL I WOULD LIKE TO SAY, ALTHOUGH I HAVE ANSWERED ALL QUESTION VERY STRICTLY AND U MIGHT FIND
MYSELF VERY RUDE, BUT I HAVE ONLY WRITTEN THESE FOR UR OWN BENIFIT. AT THE SAME TIME I THINK AUSTRALIA IS GOOD, AT UR AGE TO COME TO AUSTRALIA IS THE BEST, 1ST GENERATION MIGRANT ALWAYS SUFFERS BUT NO DOUBT ITS GOOD FOR UR NEXT GENERATION.

TAKE CARE.

Hi Mr. A,

This is Sayeeda Shathi, recently migrated from Bangladesh & living in Adelaide . I'm taking the privilege to introduce Adelaide to you. from my experience. I would like to inform you the real scenario of Adelaide . It might sound horrible but believe me its not that bad, it just you need to be prepared for the worst.

This is, in my opinion, a best place to live in, to rise the family, its not a chaotic city, population is reasonably low, though Adelaide is experiencing population boom this year still there is space for us.

As per your queries, the Job market varies. There are scopes in mining sector, factories that is in production sectors. But there are scarcity in official jobs, literally there are plenty of advertisements but a very few to success. So, getting a respected job, matching your expectation, it might be pretty tough at the beginning. But most of the people get any kind of job within six months of their arrival. By the way, what sort of task are you doing in Telecom & what Telecom is this?? If you have exposure in Customer Service / Sales that will be an added advantage. If you are good at driving you can initially survive being a cab driver, there is no shame doing this, lots of people from several nations are doing this, as it gives handsome money. What you need is Aus licence & pass the test for taxi driving. You can also attend certificate courses if you wish, but you will be treated as an International Student, so a fat amount of money is involved.

Secondly, if you arrive here with SIR visa under subclass 495, that will not cover the health insurance & other benefits until you get PR. So before coming please ask your agent under which visa category are you applying.

Finally, I should advise you that you must have enough cash flow to support yourself at the initial struggling. Until or unless you are getting something that will be your strength. Most importantly you will not feel alone, we are here to support you. You can visit SABCA website www.sabca.org.au

For further queries please feel free to mail me.

Regards.

B Bhai,
First of all, congratulations to you and your wife, on being blessed with a beautiful baby. Thanks a lot for your reply. We are a family of four, myself my wife and two daughters. The first thing we will be needing on our arrival is a two-bedroom house, the rent being very low, but a good neighbourhood. My range is 100 to 150 AUD weekly. I won't mind if its not in the Metropolitan area, but must have very near transport facility. Can you help me figure out the formalities to rent a house as soon as possible? We would want to move in directly on arrival. I am a Master of Social Sciences, DU, but professionally I am a business man. My wife is a professional cook and the main applicant. Both of us have eight years experience in restaurant business and administration. But both of us wont mind to do any other sort of job, provided we get started immediately. My two daughter's are 20 and 13 years, respectively. They are both students.

I have booked on the 25th of october. I will update you if any changes.

Thank you so much.

A bhai.

As-Salamu-Alaikum, I am A. I came across your website. I am very impressed and proud to know about the unity of our people and representation of our culture in South Australia . Actually I am coming this October on PR Visa with my family, my wife, and two daughters. So, coming across such a webpage of our Community was very remarkable. Now, I would like to request a few assistances from my people since I do not know anyone particular in Adelaide. I know about the "Meet and Greet Service" and "Housing" from the Immigration Department, but I would rather appreciate if someone from my native would come out for help. On my arrival I would need a two bedroom house at a good neighbourhood. And I would also like to know about job facilities. A prompt reply will be very much appreciated. Thank you. Regards.

A.

Hi N !!!!

Dear Mr. S Bhai,

Thank you so much for your kind reply. I already go through the SABCA website very minutely, from where I got your e-mail address and I found migrant experiences, house rent and these kind of things etc.

The main thing I want to know that how is the working opportunities there, even odd or part time jobs. Though you are studying there, may be got scholarship, so you may not have to worry about that, but for me, I have to think it first. Because it is not possible to carry a huge amount with me to survive there. So I want to know that how immigrants are able to manage their work there.

JOB OPPORTUNITY IN ADELAIDE NOT GOOD ENOUGH, BUT STILL NOT BAD. IF U WANT TO COME AGAIN AS STUDENT, BE SURE U CAN PROBABLY EARN LIVING EXPENSES BUT NOT TUITION FEES. IF U COME AS MIGRANT THEN PROBABLY U WILL BE ABLE TO GET JOB, BUT NOT EASY. I FOUND MIGRANTS INITIALLY STRUGGLES TO GET JOB FOR THE 1ST 4 TO 6 MONTHS. SO, I WOULD ADVICE U TO BRING ENOUGH MONEY TO SURVIVE ATLEAST FOR 6 MONTHS. PART TIME JOB LIKE PIZZA DELIVERY AND CLEANING IS AVAILABLE AND THEY PROBABLY PAY 10 TO 12 DOLLERS PER HOUR.

At the beginning of this year I went to Australia , as a MS student at University of Tasmania . During this period I stayed in Hobart . But after 3 months I have to came back due to illness of my wife and for some other problems like - I didn't find any part time job there to continue my study and living expenses. So I do not have a very good experience of that place, may be you imagine.

Though this is my last chance, so I am trying to get as much information as possible, before applying. Another thing is that, if I and my wife will go there is there anyone who can give us some initial support by providing information, guidance to find a job, to find an accommodation etc. Because I have an experience, without this support it is extremely difficult to survive there.

AS FAR AS I THINK IF U GET PERMANENT RESIDENTSHIP THEN U SHOULD COME. LIFE IS MUCH EASIER HERE. IT IS TRUE 1ST GENERATION MIGRANTS ALWAYS SUFFERS. JUST BE CONFIDENT.

EVERYONE BUSY HERE IN ADELAIDE . THE ONLY DAY EVERYONE IS FREE IS SATURDAY AND SUNDAY. PEOPLE HERE VERY COOPERATIVE AND U WILL GET ENOUGH SUGGESTIONS. FOR ACCOMMODATION AND JOB HUNTING PEOPLE CAN SHOW U THE WAY. IF U COME HERE THEN U CAN MEET A LOT OF BANGLADESHI IN BANGLA SCHOOL , FROM WHERE U CAN GET ALL NECESSARY ADVICE.

If possible please give me an idea what is the working opportunities there and what people do there mainly. I am not worried to do any kind of job, but the question is that it is difficult or easy to find a job in Adelaide . Also let me know how is the working opportunities for girls there. I found a link named "Job Opportunity" in the website, but it may not be very easy to find a job in the internet, according to my previous experiences.

PART TIME JOB IS POSSIBLE, BUT NOT EASY TO GET. HOUSEKEEPING IN THE HOTEL, TAXI DRIVING, CLEANING ARE POSSIBLE. FOR PERMANENT RESIDENT GETTING JOB IS EASIER THAN STUDENTS.

Sorry, may be I am bothering you by asking and seeking too many questions and information, but please dont mind. If possible please give me e-mail address and phone no of any people who went there as immigrant? If you dont mind I want to call you again, due to your kind permission and let me know your free time. Thank you.

MAIL ME IF U HAVE ANY FURTHER QUERIES. I WILL ASK SOME MIGRANTS IF THEY WOULD LIKE TO DISCLOSE THEIR MAIL TO U OR NOT. THEN I WILL SEND U THEIR CONTACT INFORMATION.

BEST OF LUCK.

With warm regards
